I was dead bored, plus have been thinking about visiting the place, so what the heck. Left @ 12pm and was expecting a sizable crowd. Thank God there's still place on the lower basements.
Map HERE.
All in all, the place is small. It's made up of a basic one stretch to the other structure. Nothing spectacular about the overall design.
Lots of restaurants on the lower ground. And quite a number of retail outlets on the above levels. More stores to be opened soon.
Parking Bay (Which is free for now)
There's a Jaya Grocer here. Reasonably sized. There's even a cute cafe tucked in the centre of the supermarket. Serving western/eastern cuisines.
Awww man... Not another Nonya Colours... this place is everywhere! Not that the food is crap or anything, just that it's waaaaaaaaaay overrated.
Whoa... this baby is packed to the brim! Conceptual-wise.. a cross between roti boy, and bread story. There's even a small dining area within.
Tiny stage in the Atrium
A real surprise: I did not know that there's a hotel integrated into the mall's building. 'The Empire Hotel' is located on the 3rd floor of the mall. Lobby is there. Apparently those who wants direct access to the hotel can take separate elevators from the ground floor.
One of the hotel's restaurants.
A view from the lobby. Peeking at my childhood hang out place.
After exploration, headed for some chow time. In the end, settled for some Lam mee @ Lammeeya. Verdict: Bleh* Not my cup of tea. Don't quite fancy starchy food. Price-wise: Rather expensive, portion is small.
Something on the menu caught my attention. Plain rice MYR 2.8 (What the?!)... and with added lard... MYR 3.. ( O.o).
Overall: 2/5. Certainly doesn't leave up to its name in terms of grand-scale proportions. The hotel was a nice surprise. Would consider settling in friends/relatives from overseas/outstation.
